Galaxy Map & Navigation Guide

The Navigational Bridge

Access to the 3D Galaxy Map is strictly restricted until you have constructed a Navigation Bridge on your Throne Ship or Station. Once built, the sensors on the bridge allow you to scan the cosmos.

Your Scanner Range is determined by the level of your Navigation Bridge:

  • Level 1: 5 Light-Years (Local Sector)
  • Level 2: 15 Light-Years
  • Level 3: 40 Light-Years
  • Level 4+: 100 Light-Years (Deep Space Radar)

Interacting with the 3D Map

The map is rendered in full 3D space. You can Left-Click and Drag to rotate the camera around your current target. Use the Scroll Wheel to zoom in and out. Click any icon to target it, which will display its details in the right-hand panel and allow you to launch fleet operations directly from the map.

To explore beyond your current sector, select a distant object and click Scan Local Area to recalibrate your sensors around that new focal point.

Territory Glows & Signatures

Advanced sensors emit holographic glows around active stations to quickly identify territory ownership at a glance:

  • Green Glow: Stations owned by you.
  • Red Glow: Stations owned by enemy commanders.
  • Purple Glow: Hostile Alien Assimilations.

Note: You can adjust the size of these glows or turn them off completely in the View Settings panel on the left.

Bookmarks

Space is vast, and remembering coordinates is difficult. When you have an object targeted, click ➕ ADD in the Bookmarks panel to save it permanently. You can assign a custom label and brief notes to the bookmark (e.g., "High Platinum Yield").

Clicking a bookmark in your list will instantly snap your camera back to those coordinates.

Map Filters & View Settings

Your Galaxy Map is highly customizable. Any changes you make to the sliders and toggles will be saved automatically to your preferences.

  • Map Legend Toggles: Located in the bottom right corner, uncheck icons to hide clutter like Asteroid Belts or Nebulas.
  • Icon Size: Scale the celestial bodies up or down for a better macro or micro view.
  • Max Zoom: Sets a hard limit on how far out you can scroll with your mouse wheel, preventing you from accidentally getting lost in deep space.
  • Scanner Range Cap: Don't get too ahead of yourself with the preference sliders. Even if you crank your desired view range to "Omniscient," your physical hardware matters. Your actual visibility is strictly capped by the current level of your Navigation Bridge. A Level 1 Bridge isn't seeing past the local sector, no matter how much you wish it would.
