The Commander's Logs
Archived Transmissions from the Edge of the Platinum Frontier
You think you're ready to command a Throne Ship, kid? Let me tell you something: reading the manual and surviving out here in the black are two entirely different things. I've seen a hundred hotshot cadets warp into Sector 4 thinking they were gonna build an empire. Most of them ended up as frozen debris in an asteroid belt before they even figured out how to upgrade their Primary Shield Generator.
Out here, nobody cares what academy you went to. They only care about two things: how much Platinum you're holding, and how many Dreadnoughts you've got protecting it.
The Heart of the Empire: The Throne Ship
Your Throne Ship isn't just a vessel. It's your city, your factory, your bunker, and your tomb if you aren't careful. When the old republic collapsed, these massive command platforms were all we had left. They are the absolute center of your realm. You lose your Throne Ship, you lose everything.
The first thing any commander with half a brain does is bolt a Cargo Hold onto the hull. You can't conquer a galaxy if you don't have anywhere to put the loot. The engineers use these crazy nano-technologies now—means you can expand the hull of the Cargo Hold without losing structural integrity. I remember the old days when expanding storage meant welding literal shipping containers to the outer plating. Looked like garbage, and one stray micrometeorite would vent half your food supply into the void. Now? It's all seamless. But you better keep expanding it, because your stockpiles of construction materials, platinum, food, and energy will max out faster than you think.
The Miracle of Dark Matter: The Pelastration Chamber
If you ask me how the Pelastration Chamber actually works, I'll punch you. I'm a commander, not a quantum physicist. All I know is that they harness dark matter and complex physical science to literally generate elements out of empty space. Need alloys for construction? The Chamber makes it. The bigger you build the chamber, the faster you get your materials. It’s basically magic, but it’s the only reason we haven't all killed each other over the last scrap of metal in the universe.
Of course, generating matter takes juice. A lot of it. That’s why you're going to need a Solar Radiation Array. It generates energy out of pure starlight. You park your Throne near a Gaseous Nebula, and your array will sing. But keep an eye on your consumption. The minute you power up an Orbital Shipyard or start replicating drones, your energy grid is going to get slammed.
Feeding the War Machine
You can have the biggest guns in the sector, but if your crew is starving, they'll mutiny before you even fire a shot. The Ecosystem BioSphere creates an artificial environment to support life. It grows the food. It filters the water. Upgrading it is boring, yeah, but starvation isn't a strategy. Trust me.
And then there's the Platinum Processing Plant. Listen to me closely. Platinum is the only god left in this galaxy. It’s the primary currency. Your processing plant handles all the banking, the manufacturing, the refining... it is the absolute hub of your financial might. A massive platinum reserve means you can rush build times, buy off mercenaries, and fund a fleet that will blot out the sun. If you aren't upgrading your Platinum Plant, you aren't playing the game.
The Swarm and the Steel
Let's talk about the fun stuff: making things explode.
Your Drone Replicator is your infantry factory. Drones are the foot soldiers of space. At level one, you're pumping out Recon Drones. They're ultra-fast, got great stealth, but a strong breeze will blow them up. They have zero attack power. You use them to map sectors and spy on your neighbors. Once you upgrade, you get Swarm Drones. Cheap, lightweight, weak... but when you send ten thousand of them at a target, they strip armor like piranhas.
If you want real protection, you build Aegis Drones. They interlock their shields and create a defensive grid around your Throne Ship. And if you're feeling suicidal but want to take someone with you, build Plasma Drones. Absolute glass cannons. They hit harder than a freight train but pop if you look at them funny.
The Heavy Hitters
Drones are cute, but Ships are how you win wars. You need a high-level Orbital Shipyard for these. The Corvette is your bread and butter early on—fast, versatile, great for raiding weak stations. Frigates are the brawlers, heavily armored to hold the line while your squishier ships do damage.
You'll need Cargo Freighters if you actually want to steal resources from the planets you conquer. They have zero weapons, so don't send them in naked unless you like donating your resources to the enemy.
But when you're ready to wipe someone off the map? You bring the Destroyer. It's a slow, brutal siege engine built for one thing: kinetic bombardment. And if you somehow survive long enough to build a Dreadnought... well. The Dreadnought is the pinnacle of orbital engineering. It's an unstoppable force of galactic subjugation. When a Dreadnought drops out of warp, the war is already over.
Survival
If you want to live, build a Warp Signature Detection Satellite. It gives you a heads up when an enemy fleet is inbound. The higher the level, the better the intel. Without it, you'll just wake up one day to a screen full of fire.
And if you're more of a merchant than a warlord, get your Demilitarised Trade Platform running. It lets cargo ships dock and trade without your automated defenses blowing them to dust. Trade is lucrative, assuming nobody steals it from you.
Build your Throne. Expand your fleet. Trust no one. Good luck out there, Commander.
